Update on Lee...

Hi everyone!
I'm very happy to say that all the prayers and support were certainly answered! God blessed Lee with a successful, and perfect surgery. There were NO complications and Lee is recovering in a strong way. I am so thankful and blessed to know that he is okay and that everything is going so well. The business is truly a labor of love for both of us, and each one of us contributes the same amount; I guess what I'm saying is that I couldn't do it without him.

Again, thank you all so much for your prayers and support and I will start getting things posted very soon. Have a wonderful and blessed day!

A little time off...

Hi everyone! I'll be taking a little time off between now and next week, for a very important reason. My wonderful husband, Lee, is going to have surgery next Monday. We're going to Chapel Hill to get him the best possible care, and we found the best possible doctor there. First of all, please keep Lee in your prayers for a very successful and complication-free surgery. I truly believe that the more prayer we all offer up to God, the bigger and more powerful the outcome will be. A big dose of faith always goes a long way! Secondly, I will be working next week to complete most of my recent work. While I want to work this weekend, it will be very sparse. I hope you guys understand because I want to make sure that I'm there for Lee and his recovery as much as possible. He means the world to me, as most of you know, so I want to make sure I'm there for him every step of the way.

Again guys, we truly appreciate all the prayers that you guys could offer. I know it will mean a lot to Lee. He is truly my soulmate and the one God made especially for me, so getting him better the quickest way possible is my current goal. Thank you all so much for your prayers and support, and I will blog again as soon as we know something.

Have a great weekend!

July 4th photography show

Yes, I know...I haven't been posting in a while and I'm late getting these up. Sorry guys! Anyway, Lee and I went to Lake Lure for July 4th to do a photography show, with Lee's parents in tow. We had so much fun with them and couldn't have done it without them. I have to brag on Lee for a second...check out the picture of the booth...he singlehandedly concocted the design for our booth and I think it looks pretty darn good! We actually got to hang pictures on those walls! Lake Lure in itself is beautiful, but I love it especially because its where my favorite movie was filmed (Dirty Dancing). We got to show off and sell some of our photography, got to do an impromptu photo shoot with a great couple (Glover lifestyle shoot, below), and got to see some awesome fireworks. Enjoy some of the pictures of the day.

Glover lifestyle shoot, 7/4/08

This was a neat change from wedding photography. I got to do what I call a lifestyle shoot with the Glovers at Lake Lure...it documents their everyday lives. Jessica and her husband enjoy restoring vintage boats, and I think this one was from the 1950's. They said they just wanted some pictures of the boat on the water, but why not throw in some great vintage shots of the people who brought the boat back to life? I put a vintage feel to each portrait of the Glovers, to reflect the feel of the boat. I really enjoyed meeting them and photographing them, and hope to have the pleasure again sometime in the future. :)

Hayley and Nathan

This shoot was a while ago, so I can't believe I forgot to post it! This is my favorite engagement session to date. My style is evolving to where I try to bring out the romantic personality of the couple. That doesn't mean a lot of PDA, because some couples aren't like that. I have found myself asking couples if they are more of a fun, joking kind of couple, or a couple who doesn't mind showing affection on camera. Hayley and Nathan were definitely the fun, joking kind of couple, so I went with it! Not only a very fun couple, but a very "do what you want...we trust you" kind of couple! I absolutely love getting a blank check for creativity. As you can see in the shoot, the combination of both of them laughing and being themselves in front of the camera, along with a few new locations, really made an incredible engagement shoot. I am happy to say that I have become good friends with Hayley and we get to go to lunch regularly. Did I mention she's my dental hygienist? :)

Enjoy a shoot with a very fun, very personable, and very warm and lovely couple.

Flowers-Rostan wedding

I posted a while ago about Shea's bridal portraits and we received such a warm response about them. I have had so much fun in the journey of documenting Shea and Ben's start as husband and wife, and their wedding was no exception within that journey. I alway love doing all three shoots with couples, because I really get to know them. Shea and I have become good buddies :) and I was sad when the wedding came, because I knew it would be the last shoot with her and Ben, but I was very happy to see the day finally arrive! The wedding was beautiful, and man did she do a great job decorating. Her florist and hairstylist were both amazing, and the church was just as cool. The icing on the cake was the reception...she held it at the Hickory Museum of Art!!! Definitely my number one, absolute favorite reception venue. If anyone knows me, you know I'm the artsy type. :) Anyway, enjoy the photos of a truly beautiful and sweet couple!
